The print.
Every print is produced to order at 300 DPI at its final size, on archival fine art paper, and never pulled from stock. The paper is named on each work's page for the format selected, and the certificate records the paper the work physically shipped on.
The core sizes, framed.
The four core sizes, 12 x 18 through 24 x 36 inches, ship in premium production frames: solid hardwood moulding in black, white, natural wood, or dark wood, fitted with a border or full bleed, and delivered ready to hang.
The 30 x 45, window-matted.
The 30 x 45 inch works are hand-assembled to order in a black block moulding with a single window mat cut at a three inch width, six-ply, over a foam-board mount. The depth of the mat itself serves as the spacer in this construction, so the print sits recessed behind the window. The frame arrives with its hanging wire factory-fitted and the back sealed in black paper.
The 40 x 60 and the Artist Proof, floated in shadowbox.
The largest works in the collection are hand-assembled in a deep black gallery moulding as a shadowbox: the print is dry mounted to a hidden archival lift and floats on a four-ply white mat at a three inch reveal, held behind UV-filtering acrylic. The frame carries a metal cleat for hanging and a sealed backing. These works are crated for freight delivery. The floated shadowbox construction belongs to these two tiers alone.
The certificate.
Every work ships with The Road Museum's certificate of authenticity, recording the work, the photographer, the performing artist of record, the accession number, the format and paper as shipped, and the date of issue, and every acquisition is entered in the public provenance registry at the moment it is made. What the museum certifies is the photograph itself, the print it became, and the record that proves it.
